Note:
- The antenna has a standard SMA female connector, and can be replaced by any antenna with the same connector.
- There is a lanyard hole above the belt clip that can be used with a lanyard.
- To provide a better user experience, the Bluetooth adapter is factory-installed on the walkie-talkie. The Bluetooth adapter allows your walkie-talkie to use Bluetooth-related functions. For details, please refer to the Bluetooth Adapter User Manual.
Assembly & Disassembly
1.Installing the Antenna
Hold the bottom of the antenna, align it with the connector on top of the walkie-talkie, rotate it clockwise and tighten it.

Note:
Make sure the antenna is properly installed before use. If the antenna is not installed, transmitter components may be damaged when using the walkie-talkie.
2.Installing the Belt Clip
Align the bottom edge, place one side of the walkie-talkie in the side of the belt clip, and gently press the other side into place to complete the installation.

3.Removing the Belt Clip
To remove the belt clip, lift the middle of the belt clip and rotate it in the direction shown to separate it from the walkie-talkie.

Note:
Do not use excessive force when installing or removing the belt clip in order to avoid damaging the walkie-talkie or belt clip.
How to Use
1.Turning the Device On/Off
Turn the knob clockwise to turn on the walkie-talkie;
Turn the knob counterclockwise to turn it off;

2.Setting a Channel
After turning on, press the right button to enter the channel menu and select the channel according to your intended use.
Notes:
- The preset long-range and public channels correspond with other Mi walkie-talkies, and can be used immediately to speak on the same channel.
- The use of long-range channels and custom channels must be carried out in accordance with the Radio Regulations of the People's Republic of China. You need to go to the appropriate radio regulatory agency to obtain an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate and go through the relevant procedures, before you are allowed to activate them in the "Walkie-talkie Activation" function to use them normally.
- Public channels comply with national standards for public walkie-talkies and can be used without an Amateur Radio Operator Certificate.
3.Speaking
After turning on, press the right button to enter the channel menu and select the channel according to your intended use.
Note:
- After turning on and setting the walkie-talkie to the same channel, you can immediately use it to speak with others.

- Hold the walkie-talkie about 3-5 cm in front of you, press and hold the PTT button, and start talking to send real-time voice messages.

4.Wired Headset
The Mi Walkie-Talkie 2 is compatible with mainstream 3.5 mm plug headsets on the market. However, you still need to press and hold the PTT button to send voice messages.
- If your headset has a microphone, speak into the headset's microphone.
- After enabling the hands-free communication feature, you do not need to press the PTT button. When the speaker's voice is louder than the set trigger volume level, the walkie-talkie will automatically send a voice message.
5.Charging
The Mi Walkie-Talkie 2 requires a Type-c cable for charging.
Note:
Please use a CCC-certified 5 V power adapter for charging. It is recommended that the current output of the power adapter is at least 2 A, otherwise the charging time will increase. (The adapter needs to be purchased separately.)

Precautions

1.Warning
Since signals transmitted by the Mi Walkie-Talkie 2 may affect electronic or medical devices, do not use it in the following scenarios:
- When in hospitals, near people with pacemakers, or near other medical devices.
- At potentially explosive sites such as gas stations, or near flammable gases, dust, metal powders and granular powders.
- On planes, or near electronic devices that are susceptible to interference.
- Any other location that restricts usage of wireless equipment.
Do not carry out any of the following operations when using this walkie-talkie, otherwise, it may cause damage to the device or even personal injuries:
- Do not apply any voltage other than the specified voltage to the walkie-talkie's power source or charging port.
- Do not disassemble or modify the walkie-talkie.
- Do not submerge the walkie-talkie in water.
- Do not hit or throw the walkie-talkie.
If the walkie-talkie starts smoking or give off odor during charging, immediately turn it off and unplug the power cord to prevent overheating, fire, or even explosion.
Additional Precautions
- Do not leave the walkie-talkie in direct sunlight or anywhere near a heater.
- Do not operate this walkie-talkie near a TV or radio that may cause electromagnetic interference.
- Do not use this walkie-talkie in crowded places, so as not to affect others or damage the antenna.
2.Precautions
- When using the public channel, the walkie-talkie operates at a comparatively low transmission power of 0.5 W.
- When using the long-range channels and custom channels, the walkie-talkie operates at a higher transmission power. Default is 5 W (High), and it can be switched to 3 W (Low).
- The 144.000 MHz-148.000 MHz frequencies are VHF frequencies and support further communication distances in outdoor open zones with a dedicated antenna (to be purchased separately).
- The actual functions of the product may vary from the content of the User Manual due to technology upgrades and firmware updates. For the latest information on features and guidance, please download the Mi PTT app. The e-manual in the app supersedes the printed user manual.

Bluetooth Adapter User Manual

Product Overview

Note:
- The Bluetooth Adapter is an exclusive accessory for the Mi Walkie-Talkie 2. It allows your walkie-talkie to connect to Bluetooth headsets, to use Azimuth maps and other functions. It also allows your walkie-talkie to connect to the Mi Home app and Mi PTT app for a more convenient setup.
- To provide a better user experience, the Bluetooth adapter is factory-installed on the walkie-talkie.
How to Use
1.Bluetooth headset
The Bluetooth adapter allows your walkie-talkie to connect to the Bluetooth headsets. Please follow the instructions to connect.
Note:
- After connecting the Bluetooth headset, press the walkie-talkie's PTT button to send voice messages. When enabling Hands-free communication, you can sent voice messages without having to press the PTT button.
- If your headset has a microphone, speak into the headset's microphone.
2.Azimuth Map
The Bluetooth adapter allows your walkie-talkie to use the Azimuth map function while connected to the Mi PTT app.
- Within the effective communication distance, location information can be shared with other Mi walkie-talkies using the same frequency, by enabling the Azimuth map function.
Note: The Mi Home app does not support the Azimuth map function.
3.SOS Distress Mode
While being connected to the Mi PTT app, the Bluetooth adapter allows your walkie-talkie to use the SOS distress mode to send help-seeking information; or to view the other party's location information on the map after receiving help-seeking information in the search & rescue mode.
Note:
- To send a distress message, you need to select "Distress information & alarm tone" in the walkie-talkie's transmitting details, otherwise, you can only send a distress alarm tone.
- Mi Home app does not support this function.
Connect with Mi Home App
This product works with Mi Home. Control your device in Mi Home app.
Scan the QR code to download and install Mi Home app. You will be directed to the connection setup page if Mi Home app is installed already. Or search "Mi Home" in the app store to download and install.
Open Mi Home app, tap "+" on the upper right, and then follow prompts to add your device.

Note:
- The version of Mi Home app might have been updated, please follow the instructions based on the current app version.
- More features including custom channels and location sharing, please download Mi PTT app.

Precautions

- The Bluetooth Adapter is an exclusive accessory for the Mi Walkie-Talkie 2. It does not support installation on other devices, and also cannot be used as a stand-alone device.
- If not required, do not remove the Bluetooth adapter so as not to damage it or the walkie-talkie.
- Do not install the Bluetooth adapter on other devices so as not to damage it or the other device.
- Take care of the Bluetooth adapter after it has been removed so as not to let children swallow it by mistake.
